SUMMARY:Heart Gala
DESCRIPTION:We had approximately 350 attendees and the evening was a resounding success all around!!! \n\n\n\nThe event was kicked off by a Cardiology symposium moderated by our debonair Sanjiv Lakhanpal MD\, and included talks from prominent clinicians including Drs. Rastogi\, Suri\, Narian\, Awal\, and Satwah.  \n\n\n\nThe evening continued into a spectacular ‘meet and greet’ event\, pharmaceutical booth displays\, as well as philanthropic and artistic endeavors represented by our very own ‘GWAPI Youth’.  We also got a chance to showcase the talent of our very own GWAPI authors including Dr. Arwinder Chawla and Saar Shah. \n\n\n\nThis was followed by insightful talk on how to become “Angel investors “under the auspices of GWAPI by our very own Pankaj Pasricha MD MBA\, and member of the Johns Hopkins Innovation Center. \n\n\n\nWe were then treated to a sneak peak of the amazing reverse innovation that is coming out IIT\, Madras. As a result of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Dr. Mohan\, Director of Health Innovation Center\, IIT (Madras) and Dr. Khanna on behalf of GWAPI. If interested\, GWAPI members could be involved in show casing some of the fruits of this reverse innovation. \n\n\n\nThe icing on the cake was a dance performance which was prepared by Neelam Shah from ‘Team Fly for a Cure (Rhythm Dancers)’ to raise funds for the Leukemia/Lymphoma society. Last weekend\, with the support of AAPI and GWAPI\, this team was presented with the STUDENTS OF THE YEAR Award by the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society!!
